Together at the sage

together at the sage

Many orange-clad men could be seen on the dog field near sandhof on wednesday afternoon. 19 community workers from the eleven member communities of the baunach alliance came to be instructed in the art of tree pruning by dirk kammlott, gardener at the bauhof in ebern.

From three counties

The baunach alliance, with its eleven towns and municipalities in lower and upper franconia, covers the counties of bamberg, habberge and coburg. The cities of ebern and baunach as well as the communities of maroldsweisach, rentweinsdorf, reckendorf, itzgrund, untermerzbach, lauter, kirchlauter, pfarrweisach and gerach are all involved in the project. Despite their differences, the cities and communities feel connected and traditionally have relationships in many different areas of life. In the school system, shopping or visits to the doctor, but also the natural connections were decisive for the new form of cooperation in the baunach alliance, can be read on their homepage.

This bond has brought together on wednesday the employees of the farms for the tree pruning course. With the gardener dirk kammlott from jesserndorf, who works at the building yard in ebern, an expert on the subject was available for the meeting. "The whole thing came together in an uncomplicated way", explained christian raehse, head of the municipal building yard in ebern.

Children from stadtsteinach eagerly await the performance

Children from Stadtsteinach eagerly await the performance

This year’s motto "reading and movement" for the nationwide reading day was ideal for principal michael pfitzner yesterday friday. Because the stadtsteinach school is a focal point school for sports, and "its" principal simone zimmerer is the reading representative in the district of kulmbach. Together with the teacher susanne wiesenmuller, she had prepared an extensive program for the schools.

Roland wolfrum had already arrived at the schoolhouse in the second lesson. Pfitzer also saw himself as an ideal candidate in his capacity as mayor, chairman of the school association and chairman of the TSV, all rolled into one – as well as a preserved reader and storyteller, who recites one or two stories to the children and young people every year on reading day.

Two reading activities were prepared for the students: a reading game for the younger ones and a decision-making story for the older ones. The students were able to decide for themselves how to continue the story they had heard at the beginning. In different rooms of the school they could find "their" songs story then spun out according to their own imagination.

Of bees, flowers and organic gardeners

Of bees, flowers and organic gardeners

Fortunately, there is no reason to panic. The death of the bee, as dramatic as it is sometimes conjured up, does not exist. This is confirmed by the representatives of the bee-infowabe (biwa) in the erba park, as well as the farmers’ association. But one should not rest on this finding. For this reason, lisa badum (grune), who has been a member of the bundestag for the electoral district of bamberg-forchheim since 2017, not only took on a bee sponsorship, but also visited the organic market garden sebastian niedermaier to find out where there is still a need for improvement in the protection of bees and sustainable coexistence.

"Every insect contributes something to our coexistence", says badum, which is why she feels honored to be the sponsor of one of the bee colonies set up at the information honeycomb in erba park. Because the sponsorship continues to sharpen their awareness, says badum, with which they can continue to make politics in berlin: "we hang the topic insanely high." This should have arrived at least since katrin goring-eckart’s often ridiculed statement that all bees, butterflies and birds should know that the greens will stand up for them.

Goal: to impart knowledge

Outreach to bees and insects begins with clarification. So badum did not accept her sponsorship alone. They were accompanied by harald ebner, spokesman for genetic engineering and bio-ecology of the green party, who gave a lecture on the subject. But the greens were not concerned with instruction. In the morning, they listened with interest to the presentations by ilona munique and reinhold burger from the infowabe, who reported on the situation of bees in bamberg.

Herzogenaurach schoolchildren practice democracy

Herzogenaurach schoolchildren practice democracy

The auditorium of the herzogenaurach high school was like a polling station on wednesday. Ballot boxes and voting booths were set up. The election workers have lists of names in front of them, make check marks and wait for new "voters". Around 120 eleventh-grade students were called upon to cast their votes in the bavaria-wide junior elections.

"The earlier young people are introduced to elections and politics, the more likely it is that they will vote regularly and participate politically later in life, explained election director and social studies teacher karin both-kowalski. The aim is to make the schoolchildren aware of the fundamental importance of the civic right of universal, direct, free, equal and secret suffrage in democracy: participation in elections is a first – but necessary – step towards broader political participation. The high school also participated in the last federal election. "The federal government would be a different one, because our young people voted very conservatively", the teacher said looking back.

Arousing interest in politics

The junior election is intended to awaken young people’s interest in politics and convey the joy of political participation. The basic prerequisite for this is a general understanding of the political system, which is supported by the didactic material for the preparatory lessons. In addition, this is intended to convey the importance of well-founded opinion-forming processes, at the end of which there is a well-founded political judgment on the part of young people.

Lichtenfels county is now an educational region

Lichtenfels County is now an educational region

It’s a matter of continuing to demand and expand educational opportunities and networks. The district of lichtenfels would like to score with this in the future as well. Because education is not least an important location factor.

How serious one means it with this qualitatssiegel and the associated obligation, became already clear on the way there. Three years ago, six working groups were set up on the obermain and the district administration was given the task of tackling this project. Maria hahn, who acts as coordinator on behalf of the district office, made it clear that the working groups should not be dissolved again, but that the networking and improvement process of existing educational offers should be continued. When the minister of education, bernd sibler (CSU), handed over the hoped-for brass plate on tuesday morning, district administrator meibner immediately formulated the next goal: now they also want to become a "digital education region" develop further.

The initiative "educational regions in bavaria" was launched by the ministry of education a good six years ago. The aim was to create optimal educational opportunities for all young people. The actors should come from the region itself, because – according to the conviction: education is a challenge for society as a whole, and successes in this area are always community successes. So it wasn’t just the schools that were called upon, but also local authorities, youth welfare services, adult education centers, the business community and social groups ranging from the sports and reading associations to the red cross.

Megaproject will be expensive – and take time

Megaproject will be expensive - and take time

It’s going to be a real megaproject. From today on, it will occupy baunach and the other member communities of the administrative community (VG), i.E. Gerach, lauter and reckendorf, for another ten years. And it will be expensive. We are talking about the general renovation of the school in baunach. At a meeting of the administrative community, the current plans were presented in more detail.

Almost exactly four years ago, the first figures were heard at a VG meeting. And they ensured absolute silence in the meeting room at that time. An architect engaged at the time for a feasibility study spoke of total costs of eleven million euros for the general renovation of the baunach elementary and middle school. And today? In the meantime, the contract has been awarded to another architectural firm, which had already clearly contradicted this figure during the application phase – the new architect, peter kuchenreuther, uses completely different figures. At the special meeting of the VG assembly in the burgerhaus lechner-brau in baunach, 22 million euros were mentioned, plus around one million euros for evacuation rooms in containers and other necessary interim measures.

Kuchenreuther presented the general renovation in four construction phases (BA), each of which will last two years starting in 2021. Start with the elementary school (BA 1), followed by the administration wing and the first part of the middle school (BA 2). Then came the rough school hall as well as the remaining part of the middle school to the row (left building part, BA 3), finally the gymnasium and swimming hall (BA 4). In order to be able to accommodate the schools during the construction phase, kuchenreuther suggested setting up containers on the hard court to the north of the playground, but also the cross-use of rooms was necessary – middle school students would thus have to use rooms in the elementary school, and vice versa.

The next wave of bypasses is rolling toward altenkunstadt

The next wave of bypasses is rolling toward altenkunstadt

When all motorists are allowed to cross the railroad crossing in mainklein again in mid october, the next wave of bypasses will be rolling toward altenkunstadt. The bundesstrabe 289 will then be closed for rehabilitation work on a slope between burgkunstadt and theisau. Mayor robert hummer (CSU) presented the proposed measures to alleviate the burden on altenkunstadt and its eastern suburbs to the building committee on tuesday evening.

On 15. October starts

The traffic will be officially. October officially diverted via maineck, baiersdorf and weismain. "In baiersdorf, a traffic light will be installed at the intersection of mainecker strabe and forststrabe to prevent problems with pedestrian traffic", said the speaker. A tonnage barrier is planned for prugel.

Georg deuerling of the free burghers of the boroughs (FBO) suggested that one should also be issued for altenkunstadter strabe in baiersdorf. "The truck drivers should drive via weismain to the freight handling center of the company baur in altenkunstadt, otherwise it will be a catastrophe with the heavy traffic in this part of the village", said the local council. Gunther czepera spoke out in favor of declaring the kulmbacher strabe in maineck a speed 30 zone during the detour. The state road 2203 divides pfaffendorf. The local residents would like to see a crossing aid underneath the new "pfaffendorf-mitte" construction area is to be built.

Grafenbergbahn is closed for a long time

Grafenbergbahn is closed for a long time

As the deutsche bahn announced on monday, the grafenbergbahn has already been closed since saturday until presumably sunday, 10. December, no train service possible between kalchreuth (erlangen-hochstadt district) and grafenberg. The reason is "short-term necessary work on a railroad embankment".
Between kalchreuth and eschenau, the railroad embankment was soaked over a length of 100 meters due to water ingress. The embankment must therefore be stabilized by means of embankments. For the duration of the work, which is expected to take three weeks, all trains of the grafenbergbahn between kalchreuth and grafenberg will be replaced by buses. The trains between nurnberg-nordost and kalchreuth run regularly.
In a press release, thorsten glauber (), a member of the forchheim parliament, expressed surprise that nothing was known about the closure of the grafenberg railroad line. This regretted a spokeswoman for the railroad on monday, but affirmed that already on friday this information to the public in the form of a "route agent" to have sent.
But grafenberg’s grunen city councilor matthias striebich and glauber argue that the announced rail replacement service is not working. The spokeswoman said that deutsche bahn was not aware of any delays for commuters and schoolchildren: "we regret that the replacement service on monday morning did not work out satisfactorily and apologize to our passengers for the inconvenience. In coordination with our bus company, we are trying to ensure that sufficient capacity will be available as of tuesday."
In an e-mail to klaus-dieter josel, the authorized representative of deutsche bahn in bavaria, glauber writes: "as discussed in our telephone conversation today, it is incomprehensible to me as a transport politician how haphazardly deutsche bahn is organizing rail replacement services. If a line closure such as that of the line to grafenberg were to last until 10. December becomes necessary, i expect that the bus replacement service including the school request is organized according to demand." For believers, this means that the requirements of several hundred students must be guaranteed at all times. "It is unacceptable for schools to stand at bus stops for hours – especially in november and december", let believers know in the letter. He expects a "smooth and traffic-safe operation of both the school request and the rail replacement traffic until the end of the track closure".
After consultation with the district office of forchheim, glauber further learned that the public transport department (opnv) had not been informed about the track closure. Since the district has transferred its school heritage requirement to the grafenberg railroad, the mdl finds it all the more incomprehensible that the subject area was not informed. In a press release, grafenberg city councilor matthias striebich denounces "unacceptable conditions" on the grafenberg railroad. He proposes a joint action of the affected communities to explain to the german railroad the "dramatic situation" to drive in front of eyes.
Matthias striebich of the "grafenberger oberland" local association alliance 90/the greens writes: "it can’t go on like this. It is an imposition. We have already had constant disruptions, train failures and hour-long delays for weeks. Now the rail replacement transport is miserably organized, although there were now several days to prepare this."
According to striebich, people wait for hours for the bus, then one arrives, but it is jam-packed from igensdorf onwards. The connection to the train does not work either. It took passengers up to three hours to make the one-way trip and they were pissed off accordingly.
